Taurus City, 2020. A career soldier, nicknamed Ulysses, returns from the front bringing the signs of war into his body and soul. A war that tries to forget looking for answers in the past. Remained for seven years in a place forgotten by all, he manages to escape and return home with a precise goal: to find his wife Penelope who seems to have disappeared. Thanks to the help of Niko, a comrade in arms, he began his own Odyssey in search of women.
There are films that bode well for Italian cinema and Ulysses. A Dark Odyssey is one of them. First of all for its “exportability”.

Federico Alotto’s film brilliantly overcomes the obstacle from the beginning (a script written by the director and the protagonist together with James Coyne who signed the scripts for Sherlock Holmes III and Treasure Island). To this is added an international cast that compares very different professional experiences and allows actors like Danny Glover, Udo Kier and Jessica Polsky to chisel different roles than those discussed above, not to mention the completely new presence of Skin in the shoes of a character as powerful as it is enigmatic.
